Hurricane Beryl, a powerful Category 5 storm, devastated parts of the Caribbean during the summer of 2024, including Jamaica, Grenada, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The storm, with winds reaching 150 miles per hour, tragically claimed at least 11 lives, and areas like Carriacou have been completely flattened.


Monetary donations are best after disasters

I recommend that the most effective way to support those impacted by Hurricane Beryl - and other hurricanes - from a distance is by making a monetary donation. Cash donations allow disaster and hurricane relief organizations to provide targeted assistance where it's needed most, avoiding the complications of sorting and distributing physical goods.
